County tax hike is bad callThe proposed Gregg County tax increase of 3 cents per $100 valuation flies in the face of what voters have demanded and lawmakers in Austin are delivering. If current county leadership is this bad at managing tax dollars, perhaps it’s time for a total reset at the courthouse. They call numerous times a day using disguised phone numbers to tell me that I may be missing out on “important” Medicare benefits. Each time the process, the voice, sometimes the name and more are the same, but the phone number changes. No person or business should be able to shield their number and use numerous invalid numbers this way.
