NET Web DeskThe opposition Mizo National Front (MNF) has demanded that Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma issue a public apology and retract his recent remarks concerning the Mizoram peace accord and the Inner Line Permit (ILP).
The party alleged that the chief minister’s statements were factually inaccurate and detrimental to the interests of Mizoram and its people.
The demand followed a joint meeting of the MNF’s key decision-making bodies the National Core Committee, Political Affairs Committee, and its legislators where Lalduhoma’s speech delivered at Mizoram Law College on July 31 was reviewed.
In a resolution adopted during the meeting, the MNF accused the chief minister of making “false statements” regarding the peace accord and ILP, asserting that such remarks could mislead the public and undermine the historical significance of these issues.
The MNF’s statement emphasized that Lalduhoma’s comments were unacceptable and urged him to clarify his position to safeguard the interests of the Mizo people.
