The Central Savannah River Area is experiencing its biggest boom ever. Fort Gordon in the Georgia and Savannah River Site in South Carolina are pumping billions into the region. Between 2015 and 2023, the base wrapped up a massive transformation when 9,000 personnel arrived after the entire U.S. Army Cyber Command relocated there. NSA Georgia, Cyber Command, and government contractors work there. A regional housing study published by the SRS Community Reuse Organization last year showed the area needs 17,000 additional homes by 2030.
