According to the Maine State Police, the crash happened around 6:47 p.m. on Aug. 5 in the northbound median near mile marker 18. Investigators say Edmund Goodman was riding a 2016 Indian Springfield motorcycle northbound when he left the roadway and entered the grass-covered median. The preliminary investigation indicates Goodman likely experienced a medical event just before his motorcycle left the roadway. The left northbound lane of Interstate 295 remained closed for several hours as troopers documented the scene and crews removed the motorcycle. The Maine State Police were assisted by the Sagadahoc County Sheriff's Office, Yarmouth Fire and Rescue, the Maine Department of Transportation, and Copp Motors.
