The Edge Ensemble Theatre Company will open John Patrick Shanley’s drama “Danny and the Deep Blue Sea” on Friday, Aug. 21, at The Edge Theater as the third production of its 2026 season. Their intense encounter sets the stage for a story about guilt, distrust, and the possibility of redemption. Performances are scheduled for Aug. 21–22 and Aug. 27–29 at 7:30 p.m., with 2 p.m. matinees on Aug. 23 and Aug. 30. First premiered in 1983, Shanley’s Obie Award-winning play gained renewed attention following a high-profile Off-Broadway revival in 2023 starring Aubrey Plaza and Christopher Abbott. Tickets cost $20 for general admission and $18 for seniors and students, payable at the door by cash or check only.
