As of 9:30 p.m. Friday, the National Weather Service had lifted several flash flood and severe thunderstorm warnings for Allegheny and Westmoreland counties. At 7:45 p.m., the National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning for northeastern Allegheny County, with storms moving east at 25 mph. Authorities with Westmoreland County Department of Public Safety reported 19 calls about flooded basements, particularly in Greensburg, Hempfield, New Stanton and Lynchfield areas. Forty trees and 25 power lines were reported felled or damaged by severe storms as of Friday evening, a department spokesperson said. There is potential for flooding in some parts of Allegheny County and Westmoreland County on Saturday as lighter storms move through the region, Rackley said.
