After a 36-minute rain delay interrupted his outing in the third inning Friday, the New York Mets did damage to shorten his start. Ewing hit a bloop that bounced under the glove of a diving Bryan Reynolds in left for a leadoff double. Ewing advanced to third on Bo Bichette’s dribbler to third and scored on Carson Benge’s single to center to give the Mets a 1-0 lead. The Pirates turned to lefty Evan Sisk in the fourth, but the Mets scored again. With two outs, Sisk hit Ewing with a pitch.
