According to scientists, the widespread heat we’re experiencing is due to burning fossil fuels, which make extreme heat more common. To mitigate this, we need clean energy projects that don’t add heat to the atmosphere. Senators Mitch McConnell and Rand Paul, along with Kentucky’s House delegation, should support bipartisan permitting reform that speeds the deployment of clean energy. Passing the clean energy permitting reform won’t just save us from this; it will also help communities prepare for the summers ahead. Future generations should be able to enjoy Kentucky summers, not hide from them.
