Welbeck earned a surprise move to the Blues this off-season on the back of scoring a career high 13 Premier League goals last term. Barber also highlighted that the decision to part ways with Welbeck was something that the player and club felt was best at this stage. "We do think about these things, we obviously think about them very carefully, and we came to the decision we came to, and Danny came to the decision he came to. Welbeck previously helped United win the Premier League and Arsenal the FA Cup in the earlier stages of his career, and will add much-needed depth to Alonso’s side, who are looking to challenge for the Premier League title next season after last winning it in 2017.
