PremiershipFormer School of Excellence youth coach, Masimanyane Xali, credited for producing stars such as Relebohile Mofokeng, has opened up on his new project. Xali was one of the coaches, including staff members, who were retrenched at the Africa School of Excellence, following the transfer of ownership to Chipcor Holdings, a company owned by Chippa United Chairman Siviwe Mpengesi. Speaking to KickOff, the youth coach affectionately known as 'Masi', embraced the new challenge after he was recently named the new head coach at Free State ABC Motsepe League side Mangaung United. United, however, caught the attention of PSL scouts, as one of their star players, Blessing Thulo, reportedly attracted interest from Betway Premiership clubs such as Kaizer Chiefs, Golden Arrows and AmaZulu but it was Siwelele who won the race for his signature.
