In a bid to bring more grocery options downtown, the city will play host to the North Union Farmers Market throughout the rest of the summer. From September 1 to October 6, the popular market will set up shop on Mall B, every Tuesday from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., the city said in a press release. Local farmers, food producers and small businesses will make up the vendor base, though Lowenthal didn’t specify how many. Matt Cole, Cleveland’s HR director, said the intention is to test how North Union works in the downtown atmosphere. If it goes well, the city could expand it, he said, “into a longer-running market in 2027.”
