Great Train Robbery (1963)The Great Train Robbery (originally called the Cheddington Mail Van Raid) is the name given to a £2.6 million train robbery (the equivalent of £41 million today) committed on 8 August 1963 at Bridego Railway Bridge, Ledburn near Mentmore in Buckinghamshire, England. This was the big practice robbery that the South West Gang had done before the Great Train Robbery.
