Ed Case of Hawaiʻi announced Friday. Case said the National Wildlife Refuge System Invasive Species Strike Team Act expands federal efforts to manage emerging environmental threats across the country. “Hawaiʻi in particular faces unique challenges from invasive species,” Case said in a press release. Congressman James Moylan of Guam, who joined Case to introduce the measure, said invasive species threaten native ecosystems, agriculture and the island economy. The measure prioritizes identifying, reporting and eradicating invasive species in the National Wildlife Refuge System and surrounding areas, she said.
