A consultation on improvements for people walking and cycling in the town centre revealed strong support for the scheme. One of the major improvements will be a new pedestrian crossing linking Market Place with the space outside the County Hall Museum. But some residents expressed concern about a proposed cycle lane for East St Helen Street, believing the design could be dangerous, and Oxford West and Abingdon MP Layla Moran has raised the issue with county council highways bosses.
