Hyderabad: Liquor outlets, including toddy and wine shops and bars attached to restaurants will remain closed across parts of Hyderabad, Cyberabad and Future City commissionerates in view of the Bonalu festival on August 9, as police imposed restrictions to maintain public peace and tranquillity. Bars in star hotels and registered clubs are exempted. According to a notification issued by Hyderabad City Police Commissioner V.C. In a separate notification, Future City Police Commissioner Dr. Tarun Joshi announced that liquor outlets will remain closed on August 9 from 10 am to 6 am the following day within the commissionerate limits. The orders have been issued under Section 20 of the Telangana State Excise Act, 1968, to ensure public peace and tranquillity during the Bonalu festivities.
