Despite a string of flops, young actor Varun Tej has managed to draw decent openings for his latest horror-fantasy comedy Korean Kanagaraju in the two Telugu states.
“The film has garnered around Rs 3 crore share on day one including premier show collections and still has a long way to go,” says a leading exhibitor.
“The film is largely set in Seoul, Korea, and the ghost story offers some good visuals,” the exhibitor points out.
Directed by Merlapaka Gandhi, Korean Kanagaraju blends ghostly elements with comedy and is set against the backdrop of Penukonda in Rayalaseema.
The film has reportedly been sold for around Rs 17 crore in the two Telugu states.
