The Talyllyn Railway has launched 'A Day on Awdry's Railway Experience,' a full-day guided tour exploring the heritage railway that inspired the Reverend Wilbert Awdry’s Railway Series and the fictional Skarloey Railway on the Island of Sodor. The Talyllyn Railway holds a unique place in both railway preservation and literary history. 'A Day on Awdry's Railway Experience' is available year-round by prior arrangement and must be booked at least four weeks in advance. The Talyllyn Railway is the world’s first preserved railway.
