The study, which scored 289 walking routes out of 100, considered factors such as distance, elevation, scenic value, walker reviews, and dog-friendliness. North Wales featured prominently in the rankings, with several routes in Gwynedd, Anglesey and Conwy making the top 50 nationally. The Foel Ispri Path near Dolgellau, another short and accessible trail in Gwynedd, came fifth (62.07, 45th UK). Other routes in the top 10 for Wales included the Dôl Idris Path in Tywyn (52nd UK), Glasdir Copper Trail in Dolgellau (60th UK), and The King's Guard Trail, also in Dolgellau (67th UK). Across the 23 Welsh routes assessed, the highest concentration of top-rated accessible walks was found in the north west.
