MÉRIDA, YUCATÁN — The State System for Integral Family Development (DIF Yucatán) has signed a strategic agreement with Uber México to offer free rides to patients attending medical consultations and therapy sessions at the Special Education and Rehabilitation Center (CREE). The alliance aims to eliminate transportation expenses—one of the primary financial barriers preventing families in Yucatán from accessing continuous medical care and physical therapy. During the signing ceremony, Governor Joaquín Díaz Mena highlighted that technical evaluations at CREE identified transportation costs as a major cause of missed rehabilitation appointments. In its initial phase, the initiative will provide 500 donated Uber rides. Wendy Méndez Naal, Honorary President of DIF Yucatán, praised Uber México for joining a human-centered cause, emphasizing that accessible mobility gives peace of mind to families and prevents therapy disruptions for children, teenagers, and adults.
