PC: Rafael PeredaAs Lahaina marks three years since the Aug. 8, 2023 fire, Maui artist Rafael Pereda is unveiling “Lahainaluna,” a deeply personal new painting created over the past year in honor of the community he has called home for more than two decades. A self-taught palette knife artist originally from Peru, Pereda lived and worked in Lahaina for more than 20 years, where he owned and operated Gallery Rafael on historic Front Street. The original painting was purchased and is now proudly displayed at The Westin Kāʻanapali Ocean Resort Villas. “Lahainaluna” will be on display at The Westin Kāʻanapali Ocean Resort Villas and will soon be available for purchase.
