Nabarangpur: Authorities launched an inquiry after allegations surfaced that officials from neighbouring Chhattisgarh entered Odisha territory and excavated a road connecting the two states, triggering fresh concerns over a possible border dispute similar to the long-running Kotia issue.
The alleged incident occurred in Majhidhanua panchayat under Kosagumuda block in Nabarangpur district, which shares a border with Bakawand block in Chhattisgarh.
Majhidhanua Sarpanch Dayaram Pujari alleged that Chhattisgarh officials used an excavator to dig up the road inside Odisha territory without taking prior permission or informing the state administration.
The reason for digging the road has not yet been established, prompting demands for a high-level inquiry and immediate restoration of the route.
Kodinga Tehsildar Tula Muduli, who visited the site, said the excavation had taken place within Odisha territory.
