Downend Road will be shut between The Thicket and Portchester Road from August 23, under an order by Hampshire County Council. The closure, which will last between 7pm and 11pm each night, is to let the McAllister Group carry out repair works. An alternative route will be available via High Street, Portchester Road, A27, Boarhunt Road, and Swivelton Lane. The McAllister Group has assured reasonable facilities will be made available for access to adjacent premises, and notice will be provided to those directly affected.
