After serving as county judge for 15 years, Hebert lost his re-election in 2018 to then-Democrat KP George. Though Hebert had been out of the Fort Bend County judge's office since 2019, he remained engaged in the county's affairs years after leaving elected office. “He put the needs of Fort Bend County first and foremost, above party and politics,” Sims said.
