Shakur was shot four times by an unidentified assailant in a drive-by shooting on the Las Vegas strip on September 7, 1996. More than twenty-seven years later, Davis was taken into custody. However, prosecutors say Davis' wife made a hotel reservation in Sin City in her name when the murder occurred, and they can prove it. Investigators shared they had been poring over hotel records, looking for names of known gang members. Clemons' reservation did not originally raise any red flags, as she reportedly was not a gang member at the time.
