Though Gausman comes to the Cubs amidst a disappointing season with the Blue Jays, this MLB insider makes the case that the best is yet to come for the veteran. However, now with Chicago, Jon Morosi would say on MLB Network that with the defense of the Cubs and the new environment, Gausman will excel in the remaining games of the season. “Kevin Gausman…he is going to benefit from that outstanding Cubs defense that we talked about during the course of this week. Gausman is so excited to be in that Wrigley environment and to pitch in front of that defense.
