The 40-year-old was apprehended by officers near Langbank after the report was made at around 6.30pm on Tuesday, August 4. A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 6.50pm on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, we received a report of concern regarding a car driving on the A8, near Langbank. "Officers attended and a 40-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with road traffic offences. "He was due to appear at Greenock Sheriff Court. "A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
