MITCHELL — The Lennox Bandits rallied out of an early 1-0 hole and took down Groton Locke Electric 2-1 in a Class B state tournament first-round game on Friday afternoon at Cadwell Park. Lennox (10-7) scored one run each in the sixth and eighth innings, securing a trip to the second round at 7:30 p.m. Monday against Volga. Conner Eich threw six innings in his start for Lennox, allowing six hits, one run and striking out five. Palmer Boyd was strong on the mound for Groton (6-8) in his start, throwing six innings and allowing one unearned run, striking out eight without a walk. Ryan Groeblinghoff threw the final two innings and took the loss, allowing one run and one hit, striking out three.
