The Madisonville-North Hopkins Maroons battled early, but Mr. Football candidate Dremail Carothers and the Owensboro Catholic Aces ended up taking control and picking up a 43-14 scrimmage win Friday night at Steele Stadium in Owensboro. Carothers and the Aces found paydirt on the very first play of the night to take the lead. The Maroons answered with a 21 play touchdown drive to pull back even with the Aces. Catholic scored again on the second possession of the game and would lead 14-7 after the opening quarter of three varsity quarters in the scrimmage. Madisonville wraps up the preseason next Friday night when the Maroons go to Crittenden County.
