Food, music, local entrepreneurship and history are coming together in downtown Hopkinsville this weekend as the sixth annual Taste of the Town kicks off the community’s Eighth of August celebration. For co-owner Desaepa Vansauwa, the festival’s growth is paying back the community support that helped his own food business get started. Taste of the Town is also expected to feature a rotating lineup of food vendors throughout the two-day festival. Taste of the Town adds another dimension to the weekend by showcasing area businesses, entrepreneurs and community organizations. Before the Taste of the Town festival resumes Saturday afternoon, participants will have an opportunity to take part in the inaugural Taste of the Town Community 5K/8K.
