Anger from councillors as town and seafront plans pushed back

But at Milford‑on‑Sea, wider regeneration plans for the seafront are now a “longer‑term aspiration”, even though earlier proposals were approved in principle in October 2024.
Cllr Christine Ward, Conservative for Milford, told cabinet she was “hugely disappointed” by the decision as the area is “calling out for a redesign”.
Under the new approach, only existing flood defence works at Milford will continue to progress, funded from developer cash, while the broader seafront plans are left for a future masterplan.
Cllr Janet Georgiou, who sits on the town council, warned that the town could not afford to lose momentum.
“As a town council, we are united in our belief that the long‑term prosperity of Ringwood depends on this investment.
