A new documentary, My Home's in Alabama: The Randy Owen Story, traces ALABAMA founder and frontman Randy Owen's path from his childhood on Lookout Mountain near Fort Payne, Alabama, to his rise as one of country music's most recognizable voices. The film also chronicles the early evolution of ALABAMA, from the group's beginnings playing as Young Country and Wild Country in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, to becoming ALABAMA and rising to fame. The film addresses the death of ALABAMA co-founder Jeff Cook, who died in November 2022, and notes that the band continues to perform in a limited capacity. The film was co-directed by Dr. Seth Johnson and Will Payne and produced by Emily Duncan. My Home's in Alabama: The Randy Owen Story premiered earlier this year at the grand opening of the Randy Owen Center for the Performing Arts and was presented with support from Coca-Cola UNITED.
