Google Assistant is about to get one heck of a headstone in the Google Graveyard . It might sound counterintuitive to move away from Assistant in order to make Gemini work more like Assistant, but in the next sections I’ll walk through how to rebuild your favorite Assistant commands. To access this, head to Settings > Personal Intelligence > Instructions for Gemini in the Gemini app. Here you can give your routine a name, describe what you want Gemini to do in the same natural language you can use for other Gemini commands. In most cases, you can’t change the default Gemini model (Google, please), but in the Gemini app, you can tap the model dropdown and choose whatever the latest, lightest model is.
