Last month, it was announced that Orchard House Day Hospital in Royton will no longer deliver services at the site come the end of August, with referrals to move to the Oldham neighbourhood mental health team. Following this announcement, the MP for Oldham West, Chadderton and Royton said Orchard House discontinuing its care services at the site would be a "terrible shame" for the community. "Orchard House provides a valued service to many local people, and it would be a terrible shame to lose such an important community facility. "Everyone currently receiving support from Orchard House will continue with their care while individual plans are developed to support their ongoing recovery journey. "We recognise how important Orchard House has been to many people.
