St. Clair County Coroner Calvin Dye Senior identified the victim as 78-year-old John Wesley Allen Senior and said he had been stabbed multiple times. The St. Clair County State’s Attorney’s Office has asked the court to allow the teen to be prosecuted as an adult. In the meantime, his case remains under the Illinois Juvenile Court Act, the office told CNN. The teen is represented by the St. Clair County Public Defender’s Office, the State’s Attorney’s Office said. “He’s the best brother that someone took away,” his sister, Marie Stanford, told KSDK through tears.
