The popcorn bucket trend began in 2024 when Dune: Part II released its infamous Sandworm popcorn bucket. One of the recent popcorn bucket designs is an IMAX camera popcorn bucket that was distributed during The Odyssey's theatrical run. With all eight Harry Potter films returning to theaters later this month, Cinemark and Regal unveiled their Harry Potter collectible popcorn bucket and soda cup collection. The other two are a Sorting Hat popcorn bucket, where the Sorting Hat is the lid and the books are where the popcorn resides. Regal's Harry Potter collectibles will be available on August 27, when the Harry Potter theatrical re-releases begin.
