The Bud Billiken Parade has been a Chicago back-to-school tradition since 1929, when the inaugural parade stepped off in Bronzeville. The boys launched a YouTube channel and posed as "kid professors" to teach others all about the history of Bud Billiken. "Doing their own research, not just having me do the research but look and find out what you can learn about the Bud Billiken parade and then report back to me." The Bud Billiken parade is now the largest African American parade in the country. The 97th Bud Billiken parade steps off Saturday, Aug. 8 from 39th & MLK Drive in Bronzeville.
