Hyderabad: Hyderabad District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission-III has directed Select Cars showroom to pay ₹3.1 lakh for passing off a demo vehicle as a Tata Punch EV to a customer. A city-based woman had paid ₹15.45 lakh for what she believed was a brand-new Tata Punch EV. However, she was shocked to discover that it was actually a demo vehicle after it developed problems. Suspicion began at the time of deliveryThe complainant, Oraganti Srivainika from Balkampet, purchased the Tata Punch EV from Select Cars showroom in Begumpet in October 2024. However, the Commission observed that the showroom failed to produce any evidence proving the vehicle was not a demo car.
