Hyderabad: Telangana gig and platform workers have postponed their proposed strike for 10 days following assurances from the state government on their long-pending demands. The strike, called by the Telangana Gig and Platform Workers Union (TGPWU) and Telangana App-Based Drivers Forum (TADF), was scheduled to begin on Saturday. The unions said the decision to defer the strike was taken to allow the government to act on the issues raised by app-based cab and auto drivers, delivery workers and other platform workers. A joint conciliation meeting was convened by Shyamsunder Reddy, Joint Commissioner of Labour, Rangareddy Zone, with representatives of the unions, platform companies and government departments. The minister also assured the unions that the government would expedite notification of the Telangana Gig and Platform Workers Rules and the constitution of a Gig and Platform Workers Welfare Board.
