Blacktown City Council has given the green light for the Australian Sikh Association to host its annual Nagar Kirtan in Glenwood on Sunday, 5 October 2025. Blacktown City Mayor Brad Bunting welcomed the outcome, which was finalised in collaboration with NSW Police and the Glenwood Sikh community. “Blacktown City is proud to support our Sikh community in celebrating the Nagar Kirtan parade in Glenwood,” Mayor Bunting said. “NSW Police have worked closely with Council and the organisers to ensure the Nagar Kirtan parade can proceed safely,” Superintendent Joyce said. The Nagar Kirtan marks the birth anniversary, or Gurpurab, of Guru Ram Das Ji and is expected to draw hundreds of participants and visitors.
