A Gosnells man has been accused of arming himself with a metal pole to carry out a terrifying rampage smashing up cars — some with unsuspecting drivers still inside — across Perth on Friday.
The 45-year-old man allegedly embarked on the 90-minute crime spree from about 12pm, driving a white Toyota Camry through several suburbs including Mount Lawley, Perth, Inglewood, East Perth, South Perth, Carine, Madeley and Duncraig.
Police allege throughout the drive he stopped at least 20 times near stationary or parked cars before brandishing a metal pole to strike and damage the vehicles before driving away.
Several people who were inside their cars at the time were left shaken, but without injury.
The man came to a stop about 1.45pm on Lilburne Road in Duncraig, where he was arrested.
