A Homer Glen man accused of breaking into a Darien residence and injuring the homeowner before leading police on a high-speed chase that ended at his residence on Tuesday will remain in jail after a judge denied his release.
Officers initiated pursuit of the vehicle, and during the pursuit, determined Lahey was the driver, according to the release.
Members of DuPage County MERIT SWAT and Will County Sheriff SWAT Teams responded to Lahey’s Homer Glen residence in the 13000 block of Maverick Trail, where he remained inside for several hours.
Lahey was taken into custody about 6:54 p.m. Tuesday after SWAT teams obtained a search warrant for the residence, according to the release.
The victim of the Darien home invasion allegedly told police he heard a sound like breaking glass in his residence and when he went to investigate, observed an unknown man, later identified as Lahey, standing outside his residence, according to the release.
