The Grundy County Sheriff’s Office issued 93 speeding citations during a traffic safety campaign conducted throughout July aimed at reminding motorists to slow down, the office said. The sheriff’s office reported a total of 107 traffic stops during what it described as a 68-hour enforcement period. The office said the speed enforcement effort was conducted alongside other state and local law enforcement agencies across Illinois to reduce highway fatalities. The effort was made possible by federal traffic safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation, the release said.
