Prosecutors opposed the motion, arguing they presented substantial circumstantial evidence tying Frattolin to the crime, including GPS and cellphone records, DNA evidence, soil evidence and statements Frattolin made during the investigation.
One of the day’s most notable moments came when Frattolin spoke in open court for the first time since the trial began.
The defense then called its first witness, Washington County private investigator Terry Markham.
