The Downtown Schenectady Improvement Corporation launched Downtown Dollars, a virtual community gift card that can be bought online and used at more than 40 participating shops, restaurants and entertainment venues downtown. Maybe they see a show and decide to stay downtown for dinner and nightlife afterward, using their downtown dollars,” a representative said. The program is designed to give shoppers flexibility to explore local businesses and choose products or experiences that match their interests.
