Press release from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office:On August 6, 2026, deputies with the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office Marijuana Enforcement Team (MET) served a search warrant to investigate illegal cannabis cultivation in the Willow Creek area.
The Trinity County Sheriff’s Office and the California Department of Fish and Wildlife assisted in the service of the warrant.
This investigation highlights that not all cannabis cultivation operations are operating legally or in compliance with state and local regulations.
MET deputies and assisting agencies continue to investigate illegal cultivation sites where violations extend beyond the cannabis plants themselves, including environmental crimes, labor exploitation, and other associated offenses.
