Samuel Wiggs, prosecuting, said the offences occurred on June 20 this year while Jones and his then partner, Abigail Digby, were on holiday together in Pwllheli, Gwynedd. The defendant then kissed Miss Digby a second time, and whilst doing so bit down hard on her lip. It caused what Miss Digby said was “eight out of 10 on a pain scale”. Catherine Elvin, defending, said the majority of the suspended sentence period had been served and that this was the “only blemish”. Judge Huw Rees described Jones as being “violent” in drink and that he assaulted Miss Digby in a “particularly mean and effective way”.
