They have been funded by Hywel Dda Health Charities, the official charity of Hywel Dda University Health Board. Roxanne Andrews, a paediatric assistant practitioner, said: "We’re very grateful that donations to Hywel Dda Health Charities have enabled us to purchase the informative reading books for our service. "We now have two books in each county, giving our teams extra tools to help children and young people feel more comfortable and prepared before procedures and treatments. The books aim to reduce anxiety and help children and families better understand what will happen during appointments, tests, or treatments. Nicola Llewelyn, head of Hywel Dda Health Charities, said: "We’re very pleased to help with the education of children on medical procedures by providing the funding to purchase these books."
