Insurer backs Yorkshire Air Ambulance base build with fresh donation

NFU Mutual has given a second contribution of £7,899 to Yorkshire Air Ambulance’s (YAA) Big Air Base Build, a fundraising campaign to construct a new Northern Air Support Unit to replace the current base at RAF Topcliffe.

The Big Air Base Build aims to secure long-term operational resilience for Yorkshire Air Ambulance and expand its capacity to deliver critical care across the region.
The planned Northern Air Support Unit is designed to mirror the charity’s Nostell Air Support Unit and will include a hangar, crew accommodation, clinical planning areas, simulation training facilities, wellbeing spaces, and a dedicated helipad.
In 2025, the Northallerton agency selected Yorkshire Air Ambulance and repeated the nomination this year in recognition of the charity’s ongoing work across the region.
