The Lagos Zonal Directorate 2 of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has handed over N125 million recovered from an alleged land fraudster to the victim in Lagos. This was contained in a statement that was posted on the X handle of the anti-corruption commission: @officialEFCC, on Friday. The EFCC said that it handed over the recovered funds to the victim, Akinsewa Akiode, on Thursday through Sterling Bank drafts. “The petitioner subsequently lost both the property and developments under construction on the land, prompting him to petition the EFCC.” The commission said it recovered N125 million from the suspect after concluding its investigation and subsequently restituted the funds to Akiode.
