Following in NCDOT footsteps, city stores DSA bus benches for now

Amy Willis, spokesperson for the city, said government officials continue having discussions with DSA to use the benches until Wave can install its own.
Currently, out of more than 400 bus stops, there are 98 with either a bus shelter or bench, Wave told Port City Daily previously.

DSA bench builders painted messages on handmade seating, such as “You are my sunshine” or “We must have mass social housing,” which sparked backlash.
The DSA released a statement on the “theft and removal” of their bus stop benches following NCDOT’s removal Thursday and the Proud Boys’ actions.
